During the past 2 weeks the following incidents have occurred:
- A female student was mugged at 2a.m. while she was walking along African Street, below the Great Field. Students are advised not to walk alone along this part of African Street at any time of the day or night.
- A laptop was stolen from the office of a staff member. It was not leashed.
- There was an attempt to steal a vehicle parked in the Kimberley parking area. The thieves were disturbed.
- Items were stolen during the night from a motor vehicle parked in South Street. The vehicle was not locked at the time.
- A man was arrested outside Joe Slovo residence in possession of dagga and handed over to the police. He is not a Rhodes student
- A large, heavy bench has been stolen from outside Milner House.
