This year, all first year students were provided with a hard copy of a booklet entitled RU Learning at registration. The booklet aims to make clear what the University expects of students with respect to learning and offers some practical advice about what students could do to make the most of learning in higher education.
Since the booklet was distributed, a large number of staff have indicated that they believe that the booklet would be useful to more senior students. As a result, an electronic copy has been placed on RU Connected for download.
Prof Chrissie Boughey, author of the booklet and Dean, Teaching and Learning at Rhodes University will now offer two sessions aimed at sharing some of the ideas in the booklet with more senior students. Session two will be a repeat of session one. The sessions will be of particular use to anyone who is doing less well than they hoped to do at Rhodes University. RU Learning was discussed with first year students in Orientation Week. Any first year student wanting a repeat would be welcome to join these sessions.
