South African Universities and Palestinian Activism - a Moral Imperative?

Rhodes>DSSD>Latest News>DoS News Updates

Dear All,

The Rhodes University Palestinian Solidarity Forum hereby invites you to a skype meeting with the well-known Palestinian author and
activist, Omar Barghouti, on Thursday 3 May at 8PM.  The meeting will be held in one of the Eden Grove seminar rooms.

The topic is 'South African Universities and Palestinian Activism - a Moral Imperative?'

We ask you to please be seated by 7.45PM in order for us to explain the format of the meeting.

About Omar Barghouti:

Barghouti is an independent Palestinian commentator and human rights activist.  He is a founding member of the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) and the Palestinian Civil Society Boycott, Deivestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel.

His book, 'Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions:  The Global Struggle for Palestinian Rights' (2011) makes the case for a rights-based BDS campaign to stop Israel's rapacious occupation, colonization, and apartheid against the Palestinian people. This considered, convincing collection contributes to the growing debate on Israel's violations of international law and points the way forward to a united global civil society movement for freedom, justice, self-determination, and equality for all.
