Two new SRC councillors have been elected to the positions of Academic Councillor and Community Engagement Councillor. Academic Councillor, Siyanda Makhubo and Community Engagement Councillor Mapula Maponya, both stated that they have plans to put new initiatives in place to change and strengthen their respective fields.
With regards to her respective portfolio, Maponya stated that she would like to encourage students to go to relevant discussions. This would allow them to voice their opinion so that their concerns and issues about community engagement can be taken seriously.
