Carmalita Naicker suggested in her seminar that the Marikana saga was portrayed by the media through a narrow lens that excluded the community that was directly influenced. Naicker presented her seminar on 14 march in the Politics Department. She argued that the miners’ struggles were not isolated and that their struggles mirror the struggles faced in their communities.
