Sharli Anne Paphitis
Sharli Anne Paphitis is a South African philosopher and community engagement practitioner who received her doctorate in philosophy from Rhodes University. She has lectured in applied ethics, philosophy and community engagement at Rhodes University and the University of Fort Hare, and was an Andrew Mellon, NRF and Erasmus doctoral scholar. Her philosophical research has largely focused on personal autonomy, identity, human agency and personhood. She has tried to bring this philosophical work to bear on her approach to community engagement, focusing on human development in engaged learning projects she has established and co-facilitated at Rhodes University.
