Animal

South African animal diversity and wildlife act as a drawcard for wildlife tourism, which has enormous benefits for local employment and economic wellbeing.

Rhodes University supports biodiversity conservation, to reduce its ecological footprint. Steps to be taken in this regard include minimising wherever possible the university’s impact on natural ecosystems, promoting biodiversity conservation and the reduction of the university’s ecological footprint to all stakeholders.
