Long-service awardees share over 2200 years at Rhodes University

This year, Rhodes University is celebrating the long-service milestones of 140 dedicated employees, who have a cumulative 2240 years between them.

Those who reached milestones of 20, 25, 30 and 35 years were honoured at a special ceremony this week, while those who have reached the 10 and 15 year marks will be celebrated by their respective departments.

Of the 2023 long-service awardees, 76% are support staff and 24% are academic staff.

“Rhodes University appreciates the dedication of its staff members and values the contributions and sacrifices of staff who have served the University for an extended period,” said Professor Sizwe Mabizela, Vice-Chancellor of Rhodes University.
