Tafadzwa is  a  second  year PhD student within the  Sociology Department  here  at  Rhodes University. He holds a M.Sc Degree in Urban Development  and Management from  Erasmus  University in Rotterdam, Netherlands as  well as an M.Sc Degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology  and  a  BSc Hons in Sociology from the University of  Zimbabwe. His fields of expertise and interest lie in  urban social studies, social policy research and design, development studies and community based development. Tafadzwa has  worked and  consulted  for various organisations  in Zimbabwe which include UNICEF, Ministry of  Health and Childwelfare, Univesity of  Zimbawe, Institute  of  Environmental Studies UZ, UNESCO, University of  Zimbabwe-University of  Califonia San Fransisco collaborative women’s health research program, Zimbabwe National Association of Non Governmental Organisations (ZNANGO) and Practical Action. His PhD research focuses on the the construction of  household  livelihoods  in urban areas.
