Benita Bobo

I am from rural Eastern Cape, from a small town called Peddie. I completed both my degrees at Rhodes University. I did a Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in Psychology and English Language and Linguistics (2012), and further did a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honors) majoring in Psychology(2013).

I am a first year Masters of Social Sciences student, studying part-time. I am also an intern in the Dean of Students Office and the Career Centre, at Rhodes University. My research interests lie in Development - in particular women development and empowerment. I am interested in looking at how women at grassroots level use alternative forms of education, so that they are able to empower themselves and create opportunities for themselves. I am interested in what kind of impact this makes, both in their personal lives, and in their communities.
