My name is Leroy James Maisiri. I am from Zimbabwe and I’m currently doing my Masters of Social Science in the field of Industrial and Economical Sociology. I have been studying at Rhodes University since 2009. I did a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Industrial Economical Sociology and Legal Theory. Then went on to do my honors degree with the department (INS honours). My current interest lie in The New “Workers Party” Debate on the South African Independent Left.

The main goal of the research is to examine and understand different independent Left views on the renewed debate about forming a “worker’s party” outside the ANC and SACP, with specific reference to their views on the prospects for, and the value of, such party, to a socialist project.
