My name is Lethabo Sekele and I am from Kempton Park, Gauteng. I am a final year MA student in the department and my fields of interest include development studies, social and health policy as well as social theory.

My thesis is concerned with volunteerism in the health care sector and the utilisation of lay health workers to provide health care services in rural Limpopo. Another important aspect of my thesis is to explore this very concept of volunteerism and how it is practiced or applied in the African context.

My other interests and hobbies include traveling, socialising and reading.  I hope to one day venture into academia and establish my own research institute which focuses on issues of public health and development.
