Profile: My name is Yanga Xaba, currently a master’s student at the Sociology department in the Industrial and Economic Sociology stream. My areas of interest are topics pertaining to industrial relations, political economy and rural development. My honours paper was based on investigating the working and living conditions of taxi drivers in rural areas and my master’s thesis will be based on the effect of the national minimum wage on the processes of labour relations in South Africa specifically looking at the construction sector.
