Service Learning Funding

The Community Engagement Division can assist interested staff to identify suitable community partner organisations for service-learning activities, orientation workshops to prepare students for their service activities, and provide ethics workshops for staff and students who are going to work in community spaces.

Community Engagement at Rhodes University is overseen by the Director in the Community Engagement Division. Queries about community engagement initiatives like service-learning should in the first instance go to this Division.

The Community Engagement Division in partnership with The Centre for Higher Education Research Teaching and Learning offers service-learning curriculum development support to academics exploring learning in mutually beneficial partnerships with Rhodes’ community/ies.

The Community Engagement Division offers seed funding for new service-learning projects in the form of a service-learning grant which can be applied for by lecturers through the Community Engagement Division.
