“World Children’s Day was first established in 1954 as Universal Children's Day and is celebrated on 20 November each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare.
November 20th is an important date as it is the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. It is also the date in 1989 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.”
This week in South Africa, EACH and EVERY ONE of us has the opportunity of improving the rights of children to access quality Early Childhood Development Services. Please take action today to help the children of our future by supporting the Real Reform for ECD in South Africa Campaign and commenting on the Children’s Amendment Act.Source: Nicci Hayes
Please help us to raise funds so that we can give all our students a chance to access online teaching and learning. Covid-19 has disrupted our students' education. Don't let the digital divide put their future at risk. Visit www.ru.ac.za/rucoronavirusgateway to donate
