After soliciting feedback about our previous in-house publication called JQ, the editorial team implemented a complete overhaul of this publication. The brief was simple: enhance digital usability, tweak the content, improve design and distribution.
The concept was applied and the result is our new, digitally-enhanced JMS publication called Quote.
Jolandi Snyders, marketing and alumni officer, had to effectively market Quote in-house and online as much as possible. That is when Bronwyn Jacobs came in handy. A picture of her animated half head with two hand quotations on each side posed tirelessly at every notice board signalling Quote’s arrival.
Bronwyn is hard not to notice within the department. A JMS alumnus and married mother of two, she specialised in television and graduated in 2006. She recently returned to Grahamstown and landed a job as an assistant to Prof Guy Berger, as well as being a tutor and an administrative hand for the upcoming World Journalism Education Conference.
She confesses to having fallen in love with the Eastern Cape. “You feel like part of Africa here. I also wanted to bring my kids into an environment where people interact with each other and which is less commercially inclined,” says Bronwyn.
Thanks to Bronwyn’s easy- to-get-along-with character we were able to introduce Quote with a spark of Bronwyn. Catch the next edition of this biannual JMS publication on Monday 16 November 2009.
