RU canoeists take third

The 2017 Fish River Canoe Marathon held in Cradock followed South Africa’s leading canoe clubs directly into the rapids. Over two eventful days of teams navigated turbulent waters, first place went to Varsity College.

Archery ace Yashin set for Argentina

Rhodes University Archery Club member, Yashin Naidoo has been selected to represent South Africa at the 2017 World Archery Youth Championships being held in Rosario, Argentina from 2 to 8 October.

Rhodes improves in RMB Boat Race

The 2017 Boat Races held last weekend at the Kowie River in Port Alfred showcased South Africa’s top rowing institutions in a three-day competition, with the University of Pretoria and the University of Johannesburg being crowned men’s and women’s Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) champions respectively.

Coach Carlos joins Rhodes Rugby

As Rhodes University Rugby Club bids coach Qondakele Sompondo a hearty farewell, they welcome Coach Qondani ‘Carlos’ Katywa to their rugby stable. The 31-year-old Port Elizabeth-born Katywa has coached at the University of Fort Hare (UFH), and has extensive experience both as a player and a manager.
