RHODES SPORT ACKNOWLEDGES THE 2013 ACHIEVERS
At a function held at Settlers Monument on Friday, 18 October 2013, from 18:30 – the following achievers were declared as having performed head and shoulders above others in their respective categories:
Sportswoman of the year: Natalie Ross (Athletics)
Sportsman of the year: Tafadzwa Chitokwindo (Rugby)
Club of the year: Rowing
Committee of the year: Rowing
Most improved club: Hockey
Performance of the year: Natalie Ross (Athletics)
Administrator of the year: Sarah Holser (Underwater) & Dean Johnston (Hockey)
Community engagement program: (Hockey)
Inter-res winner (men): Calata
Inter-res winner (women): Oppidan
Inter-res spirit: Calata & Ruth First
The invited guest speaker, Mr Songezo Nayo, in his speech, emphasized and encouraged the involvement of students in running of their sport. He challenged students to engage in debates that will improve their participation in sport.
