Rhodes Judge off to archery champs

Dave Martin of the Rhodes University Archery Club has been chosen to represent South Africa at the World Para Archery Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, from 1 to 7 November.

The event draws qualifying paraplegic and disabled archers from around the globe to participate in the prestigious outdoor tournament. Martin, who is an International Judge Candidate, is privileged to have been chosen by World Archery to judge the event.

This will be the third time in as many years that Martin has been chosen to judge at an international level, and the second time in Thailand.

After the event, Martin and fellow International Judge Candidate, Charmaine Ho from Johannesburg (mother of 2012 Rhodes Sportsman of the Year, Lance Ho), will attend a World Archery judging conference to bring them up to speed on the latest developments and changes in the sport.

The two judges will represent the country on behalf of the South African National Archery Association at the event.
