Leboghang Mmadikgoši Nkambule is from the beautiful town of Pretoria in Gauteng. She is doing an Honours in Political and International studies in 2020 and is very passionate about social justice and redressing socio-economic issues. Redressing inequalities has been her biggest motivation for running for this position as she has seen the immense impact that community engagement at Rhodes has on the community of Makhanda. Community Engagement is solutions-focused and based on creating sustainability through the creation of mutually beneficial relationships.

As the Community Engagement councillor, Nkambule is responsible for ensuring that she coordinates and represents the SRC in community interaction programmes. Further making sure that all these programmes are sustained and abide with the principles of an asset-based approach which ensures that a dependency is not created but sustainability is ensured. Nkambule is very excited about serving the student body with transparency, hard work, commitment and empathy as above everything she is a student and a citizen of this country that believes in being the difference that we want to see.
