  • As mandated by the Constitution of Rhodes University Students, I have chaired all SRC Executive meetings.
  • As mandated by the Constitution of Rhodes University Students, I prepared for all SRC Council meetings coordinated attendance and kept minutes and written records of discussions.  
  • Circulated the minutes to the SRC and the university community at large
  • Issued statements on behalf of the SRC    
  • Appointed the members of the Student Disciplinary Board and members of the Student Defence Council.
  • Allocated offices for the SRC members
  • Assisted by the executive, developed action plan/model for the financial and academic appeals.
  • Established internal working strategies to assist the functioning of the SRC for the year
  • As mandated by the Rhodes University Constitution of Students, I have created channels of communication and maintained a relationship with the external organizations, other universities and the two workers unions at Rhodes University namely, NTEU and NEHAWU.
  • As per the constitution, I have been involved in regional and national platforms dealing with socioeconomic discussions on behalf of Rhodes University students.
  • Sat in meetings with the Director of Finance working hand in hand with Student Benefits and Sponsorships Councillor in making sure that, all financially excluded students are well represented and worked with them on a case by case basis.
  • Attended all committee meetings.
  • As mandated by the Rhodes University Constitution of the Students, I have been communicating with SAUS on behalf of Rhodes University on matters of students nationally for the benefits of our campus.
  • I facilitated the process of affiliating Rhodes University with SAUS by communicating with SAUS executive and doing presentations to the council, however, Rhodes University has decided not to affiliate with SAUS through a council vote.
  • However, the relationship between Rhodes University SRC and other universities in the country is maintained and I am actively contributing together with my president with SAUS members.  
  • As per our constitution, I advised the presidency on internal matters and managed to keep council as a team which works together in serving the student body
  • I have implemented organizational strategies and tools to aid the council in fulfilling its mandate of representing and serving students.  
  • I have established different working groups at the beginning of the year to tackle academic and financial exclusion to assist the Academic Councillor and Student Benefits and Sponsorship Councillor to fulfill their goals.
  • I have acted as the link between the SRC and SRC staff for the smooth running of the SRC term of office as mandated by the constitution.
  • Communicated the vital information to the student body and the community at large on behalf of the SRC as mandated by the Rhodes University Constitution of Students.
  • I have brought the suggestion, proposal and the motivation for the naming or renaming of Hill Top Hall after the Late Dr. Reverend Simon Gqubule to the council.
  • Worked with the Alumni House in making sure that the good principles of the university are revived and that the council keeps receiving the support from the Alumni.
  • Consulted with the CPU and the Grounds and Garden in to prevent the parking of cars in the Union Lawns.
  • As mandated by the Rhodes University Constitution of Students, I have prepared and presented the SRC report to the Student Parliament and Formal University Committees.
  • I have been speaking on behalf of the Student Representative Council on internal workings and functions of the council as mandated by the constitution.
  • I have been holding SRC members accountable for the promises and targets they set for themselves in their year goals.
  • For the effectiveness of the SRC to its constituency, I have developed reflection tools to make sure that from time to time we evaluate and improve our functioning.
  • I have used the data from reflection sessions to implement better strategies for the improvement of performance and for the motivation and relief within the council.
  • I am representing the SRC in a number of task teams established by the University for Important Issues including Research Fund Task-team, African Languages Development Centre Task-team, and other task-teams.
  • I have led the SRC task-team established to look into the impact of the First term vacation's impact on students. This task team met with the registrar and the deans.
  • I have led the SRC delegation to Hill Top 7 residence following the sudden and unfortunate death of our fellow student Mr. Zanokhanyo Mazeka.
  • Led the delegation of Rhodes University students to Mr. Mazeka’s funeral at Lusikisike.
  • As mandated by the Constitution of Rhodes University Students, I have assisted students who faced disciplinary cases and needed legal representation.
