My main priority for during this term I was working on maintaining the listenership and possibly gaining more for the Lalelani SRC Media Show which is broadcasted live on RMR 89.7FM on Tuesdays. This has been my priority because this is where the students can keep the SRC held accountable and get important update about what is and will be happening throughout the year. I will also be making this a platform for students to advertise their businesses and get in touch with other students and business who might be in the same market.

I have also been involved in other councillor’s projects, in terms of helping them out with taking pictures for the event and having the Media Team present at certain different events. Some of the events that I have been present at are the Purple Thursdays which were mainly hosted by the SRC Projects Manager and sometimes the SRC Activism and Transformation Councillor. This term has mainly been about reflecting back on the first semester. Hence I made the SRC reflection video, which was posted on the various social media platforms. I have also been sitting on various committees at the university. One of the committees that I can say are effective is the Visual Representation, Art and Culture Committee (VRACC). This committee mainly focuses on the visual representation of the institution, therefore having a student representative on the committee is very helpful, although I would advise that the SRC Activism and Transformation Councillor sit on the committee as well, because some of the topics discussed there, tap into the transformation of the University.

For the remainder of the term, I am still looking at using video and visual material to show the work of the SRC in the past semester. I am also planning on updating the website with new content for the individuals who interact with it.
