The Rhodes University Career Centre is hosting a two-day Career Fair with company presentations at the Eden Grove Foyer from 9am, Tuesday, 1 August until Wednesday, 2pm.

Over ten companies from across the country will make presentations and host workshops on how to access employment opportunities that match student qualifications. These companies include conglomerates such as BP, SARS, RCL FOODS, Old Mutual, Allan Gray, Department of Trade and Industry, Agriculture Research Council, Charted Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Department of National Treasury.

The fair is made up of 30-minute one-on-one appointments, walk in queries from 11am to 3pm daily, career assessments, career guidance, workshops on CV writing, interview skills and career success.

Today the Career Fair focuses on Computer Science and Information systems with presentations by Amazon, Nedbank, e4 Strategic Pty Ltd and Singular Systems, among others.

Wednesday’s Fair will focus on Accounting presented by major audit firms KPMG (PE), PwC, Deloitte & Touche and Nkonki Inc among others.

The fair is hosted in partnership with the Student Village, a company that has been connecting the South African youth market with companies for over 15 years. Student Village has access to over 40 campuses and over 1 million students nationally.

The Career Fair seeks to assist private and public companies to build a consumer brand by attracting fresh talent.
