Last night, MSc student Jackey Mukhawana was the second runner-up of the National FameLab finals. Jackey gave an excellent 3-minute talk, giving valuable exposure to our Department and the work done by the Centre of Biological Control.
Jackey is a biological control researcher working to manage invasive species - a major threat to ecosystems, biodiversity and livelihoods.
“I’m excited about science communication because I get to not only reach fellow scientists, but the general public as a whole, after all they are the main target for the research that we do,” he says.
Congratulations Jackey!
