Senior Editor - Bridgitte Le Du

Bridgitte Le Du obtained her BA majoring in French and Linguistics from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and went on to graduate with a BA (Hons) in Applied Language Studies from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU). She holds a MA in Linguistics and Applied Language Studies from Rhodes University. Ms Le Du is currently working toward completion of a PhD in Linguistics with Rhodes University.

After an initial period as a freelance editor Bridgitte joined the staff of the DSAE in 2016 as Associate Editor working on the Unit’s historical dictionary project, the online Dictionary of South African English. She was appointed Senior Editor in 2018. Her main interests include data visualization and the effects on dictionary design brought about by the shift from print to computer-mediated lexicography.
