Professor Beverley Wilson

Associate Professor Emeritus Beverley Wilson was born in Canada and received most of her formal education there but went to the U.S.A. for PhD studies. She got married in 1981 in Grahamstown to Professor Egil Ramstad and remained married to him until he passed away 25 years later. They did not have any children. Beverley came to Rhodes University in 1972 as a lecturer in an area of Pharmacy and has been here and in Pharmacy since that time, eventually becoming an Associate Professor and then an Associate Professor Emeritus upon retirement. Beverley was the Dean of the Faculty for 7 years during the ‘90s and continued to be the Co-ordinator of the Doctor of Pharmacy Programme since its inception in 2004. Beverley retired for the second time in April 2021 when the PharmD programme closed.

Beverley was the warden of Prince Alfred House for a couple of years and then became the first Warden of Dingemans House. She left there in 1981 and has been associated with Hobson Hall as a Fellow and now Honorary Life Fellow since then.

Associate Professor ‌Beverley Wilson is a lecturer in the Pharmacy Department at Rhodes University teaching the Doctor of Pharmacy programme. Associate  Professor Beverley Wilson's research interests are Clinical Pharmacy.

Teaching: I am co-ordinator of the Doctor of Pharmacy Programme.

Research Interests: My current interest is in clinical pharmacy in South Africa.
