Masters & Doctoral

Manager: Prof Nic Bidwell

Masters and Doctoral degrees in Information Systems are offered through the Faculty of Commerce and are currently by thesis submission only.

Normally only students holding an Honours degree will be accepted as candidates for a Masters degree. In order to enrol for a Doctoral degree, candidates must be in possession of a Masters degree or be permitted to upgrade from the Masters degree by the Board of the Faculty. The final thesis submission will be examined by external examiners.

Applications for Masters or Doctoral studies in Information Systems should normally be submitted by 30 November of the year preceding the year for which initial registration is required. Admission as a candidate for the Masters or Doctoral degree is dependent on the approval of the Board of the Faculty following a recommendation from the Head of Department.

Higher degree candidates are usually required to attend a series of compulsory research workshops and colloquia during their first year of Masters or Doctoral studies. Further details are available from the Masters & Doctoral manager.

Candidates who have been accepted for senior postgraduate studies should register before the end of February each year.
