MMus Student Plays Carnegie Hall

Kesivan and the Lights, a jazz band from Cape Town who perform original music, played to an enthusiastic audience at Carnegie Hall in New York last night (30 October). Rhodes Music and Musicology student Justin Bellairs played saxophone, and he was accompanied by Feya Faku on trumpet, Reza Khota on guitar, Shane Cooper on bass and Kesivan Naidoo on drums. The band received a standing ovation. Bellairs recently played his second saxophone recital towards his degree, and now needs to submit a short composition portfolio in order to complete the MMus (Master of Music) under the supervision of Dr Nishlyn Ramanna.
