During the last week of the term, two schools visited the Toy Library.  On Wednesday 29March 2017 Little Bears Pre-school, came to visit the toy library with a group of 12 learners had a lovely morning.  Also on Thursday 30 March 2017 Gladys Williams Pre-school came with their 14 learners.  Both schools their ages were from two to four years. The theme was about Easter.  During the Morning Ring time, we discussed the Days of the week, weather, what they know about the Easter, what is happening and how to celebrate it.  After that, one learner asked to tell us a story using a book about  Easter time.

At the reading corner few learners were reading, some attracted by threading, blocks, creative some were coloring-in their bunnies and outside were playdough with cutters and shapers, music, more instruments were set for them to play, some dancing and fantasy play.  As they were only having an hour, enough resources in each table were set for all of them to play simultaneously. They all took turns demonstrating good interaction with one another.

Some learners enjoyed playing on their own or even reading a book.  On the Numeracy table, Counting was one learner who even her teacher shared with me that she loves to do things on her own and she is quiet but shows intelligence.  Some are also happy to work together as a team to do a puzzle as it had many pieces

The practitioners were so happy to see how their children enjoyed the visit and the resources the toy library have.   This was particularly important as at ‘Little Bears’ their educational toys were stolen at the beginning of the year and they are struggling  to buy new ones as not all parents are paying the fees regularly.   They both promised to use the resources at the toy library for their children’s learning and stimulation.
