Ms. Daphney Thoka, Ms. Sarah Murray, and Ms. Nomvuzo Vazi happy about their graduations.

The 2nd cohort of ACEFL students finally graduated after 2 years of hard work amid all the challenges of the pandemic brought about by Covid-19. The cohort comprised of 13 students from Limpopo, Eastern Cape, and Western Cape provinces. Nine of these were funded by Funda Wande, 1 by VWSA, and 2 were self-funded. The graduation ceremony was held on the 8th of April 2022 at the Monument, Grahamstown. Three students graduated with distinctions (in absentia) which made all staff members very proud.

Although only 3 graduates (Nontsebenzo Bobo, Daphney Thoka, and Nomvuzo Vazi) managed to attend the graduations, it was a pleasure to meet face-to-face with the graduates since all their studies were done virtually. All other graduates joined the ceremony virtually. CSD held a tea party for the graduates on the 8th, just before sending them off to the graduation ceremony. They were motivated and encouraged to continue furthering their studies. Ms Daphney Thoka who travelled all the way from Limpopo, was encouraged to pursue her M.Ed. degree after attending the ceremony. The graduates were thrilled to be the first to graduate in person since the start of the ACEFL at Rhodes University.
