Admission to the MSc Program in Exploration Geology
Prof Jock Harmer, the present director of the Exploration Geology MSc Program, will retire at the end of 2019. The University is currently undertaking an assessment of the Program ahead of initiating the search for a new Director. As a consequence, no new registrations will be accepted for 2020: registration of candidates for the 2021-2022 cycle will resume from September 2020.
The MSc in Exploration Geology is an intensive part-time coursework and thesis program over two years plus a field and practical course. The Exploration course involves the production of a thesis based on original research. The topic for and supervision of the research component in the Exploration Geology MSc Programme are discussed after acceptance of students into the program.
Minimum nominal requirements for the programme is a Geology Honours degree + 3 years exploration work experience.
Note that eligibility for the programme does not mean you will automatically be accepted for it. There are a limited number of places available for each two-year cycle of the programme. Please see the MSc Programme website, or contact the Office Administrator (Mrs Goddard) for further information.
