The process of applying for remission is as follows:

  • A fresh application for remission of fees should be submitted on an annual basis;
  • HoD consideration and support is important. Please cognizant of the process for remission of fees and conditions of such registration in terms of your employment. The detail of this is available in the document below:

  • The duly completed application should be forwarded to your HR Generalist. If you have any queries you may contact the HR Generalist for your Faculty.

Note that the academic registration process is handled via the Student Bureau.

Please note that staff registered for PGDHE receive 100% remission up front and only if they don’t complete the qualification (except where they convert straight to Masters), will they become liable for the 25%.

FOR DEPENDANTS STUDYING AT RU

Rhodes University does not pay for studies of dependents at other HE institutions.

Staff in recognised university posts, as well as those in outside funded posts in the University and associated institutions, qualifies for concessions for their spouse/partner and/or dependents to study at Rhodes University. For more detail of who that includes, please consult the document below:

Applications forms for remission of fees for spouse, life partner and dependents are to be submitted to the Student Fees Office. A fresh application for remission of fees should be submitted annually. The application form can be accessed below:
