The Centre for Biological Control (CBC) in collaboration with Forestry and Agricultural Biotechnology Institute (FABI) are hosting the National Symposium on Biological Invasions 2021. This will take place virtually from 5th to 7th May 2021. The symposium is intended for invasion experts, students, managers, and policy makers that are interested in biological invasions and their management in the region. We look forward to welcoming you online to the symposium.
Theme
The theme for the National Symposium on Biological Invasions is: Africa acting together against Biological Invasions. We invite you to submit your abstracts bearing this theme in mind. How does your and your teams’ research and work benefit the management of biological invasions in Africa?
The sessions will be planned around Blackburn et al. (2011) unified framework for biological invasions. Please can you consider this when preparing your abstracts and motivating your students to prepare presentations for the symposium. The scientific committee, chaired by Professor Martin Hill, Professor Bernard Slippers and Dr Costas Zachariades, are ready to receive your abstracts.
In order to accommodate as many of you as possible we are offering three ways of presenting your research: either a five- or a ten-minute long pre-recorded presentation, or a poster. You will be able to indicate on your Abstract submission form which mode of presentation you would prefer.
