Thesis title: The efficacy of the egg parasitoid Trichogrammatoidea cryptophlebiae on economically important Tortricids in South African Agriculture.
Supervisors: Prof Martin Hill, Prof Sean Moore, Dr Megan Mulcahy
Emma is doing field and lab trials on the efficacy of the wasp to determine the level of control it can bring to litchi, apple, macadamia, citrus and grape farmers. She is also doing research in the labs that will assist in developing an effective mass rearing system that maintains the parasitoids biological integrity as it has implications for control of the pests in the field.
She is a farm kid who loves the outdoors, conservation and being surrounded by like minded people. She is always up for an adventure!
