Qualifications:
MA Journalism and Media Studies

Thandiwe graduated with a BA in Media, Communication and Culture from Nelson Mandela University, focussing on Contemporary Culture. She has a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies, focusing on Economic Journalism, and a MA in Journalism and Media Studies with a focus on Environmental Reporting from Rhodes Univerrsity. 

Thandiwe coordinates the Social Innovation Hub - a resource centre for basic technologies and training, as well as a Social Innovation intermediary connecting stakeholders in social innovation and entrepreneurship in Makhanda.

She also coordinates the Intsomi Reading (foundation phase) part of the Parent Engagement Programme. Intsomi collaborates with Rhodes University staff who are parents to young children, to facilitate access to resources to read at home with their children and take an active role in their child’s learning.

Thandiwe also coordinates media and communications for the Community Engagement division.
