Mr van Staden obtained his MSc in Physics researching radio interferometry. His thesis focused on implementing accelerated models of the radio antenna primary beam, along with extended radio sources. He is currently in the process of working towards a PhD in the
field of machine learning, which is where his research interests currently lie. Specifically, he has a keen interest in computer vision,
and using it as a form of non-invasive biometric in video footage.
