Dane Brown is a PhD graduate of Computer Science from Rhodes University. His PhD research on multi-modal biometrics involved comprehensive theory and application of various image processing and machine learning techniques. He also holds a Masters degree in Science from the University of the Western Cape. This involved parallel processing techniques on both the CPU & GPU within the scope of South African Sign language recognition. He is a passionate lecturer in Computer Science and a member of SAYAS and IEEE
Computer vision in agriculture and marine biology, signal processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, information security and biometrics.
