Masters & PhD Co-ordinator

Professor Brown holds a PhD in Computer Science from Rhodes University. His PhD research on multimodal biometrics involved various image processing and machine learning techniques. His MSc from the University of the Western Cape involved efficient parallel
processing techniques on both the CPU & GPU in South African Sign Language recognition. He is a passionate lecturer in Computer
Science and a member of SAYAS and IEEE.

Research interests

Computer vision in agriculture and marine biology, signal processing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, information security and biometrics.
