New Editor-in-Chief for the Southern African Journal of Environmental Education

The Southern African Journal of Environmental Education (SAJEE) is an accredited and internationally refereed journal. The journal is published by the Environmental Education Association of Southern Africa (EEASA).

Rhodes University’s ELRC takes pleasure in announcing Professor Eureta Rosenberg in the new role as Editor-in-Chief of the Southern African Journal of Environmental Education. Professor Rosenberg recently returned to academia after ten years, working as a consultant applying academic skills in practical environmental, educational programme and organisational development contexts. She was re-appointed to the Murray & Roberts Chair of Environment and Sustainability Education at Rhodes University as from 1 January 2017.

Professor Rosenberg is supported by Dr Mucha Togo who will be assisting in the role of Guest Editor, and myself with operational and administrative support.

The Southern African Journal of Environmental Education aims to publish and report on a wide range of aspects relating to Environmental Education, Ethics and Action in southern Africa and elsewhere, with a strong focus on research. The journal seeks to further the academic study and the practice of environmental education by providing a forum for researchers, scholars, practitioners and policy makers.  It includes a variety of research genres; conference reviews and keynote papers; comparative studies; retrospective analyses of activities or trends in a particular field; commentaries on policy issues; and critical reviews of environmental education, ethics and action in a particular country or context.

The journal further incorporates an author support programme to encourage new authors in the field to establish themselves as scholarly writers.

Institutional support for the journal is provided by the Rhodes University Environmental Learning Research Centre (South Africa), in the Faculty of Education at Rhodes University.

Rigorous peer-review is the corner-stone of high quality academic publishing.

We appreciate that peer review is often unrecognized, and would therefore like to introduce ‘Publons.Com’. Publons.com works with international publishers creating a beneficial partnership to better research through peer review. They aim to attract the very best reviewers with the end goal of speeding up science and research and providing the platform for experts involved in peer review to showcase their peer review contributions across the world's journals and to receive the recognition they deserve. https://publons.com/home/
