At the age of 23, Sithandwa is a graduate of Rhodes University in Grahamstown. She did her undergraduate studies in Journalism and she also holds a postgraduate diploma in media management from the Sol Plaatje institute at Rhodes. She is a new edition to the PRIMEDIA family, employed as traffic Co-ordinator.
For Sithandwa moving to the big city is exciting but scary. This transition meant independence, a life away from parents and comfort to become a grown woman. It also means learning new things and how to cope with life in the big city.
"Starting a new job entails opening up to new lessons and knowing that mistakes do happen, and when those mistakes happen, forgive yourself and move on"says Sithandwa. So far I have learned conflict management and how to deal with diverse personalities in the work place.

As part of her initiation into the big city, Sithandwa got lost on her way to work. She was rescued by CCID - Central City Improvement District officials who gave her a lift to work. The experience got her devastated, which she found herself in tears all the way to the Human resource office to explain her adversity. Her biggest worry was being fired for being late on her first week. Another challenge she faced was finding a permanent place to stay. Even after three weeks of being in the mother city she couldn’t find a suitable place. Although Cape Town has been challenging, Sithandwa still finds time to explore and appreciate what the city has to offer.
Straight from university into the workplace, Sithandwa is one of the luckiest as hundred thousands of South African graduates are battling to get jobs. In 2014 Sithandwa was awarded the Primedia Scholarship to study Postgraduate Diploma in Media Management. After her completion of the course she applied for a job at Primedia broadcasting and her application was successful. Now Sithandwa is adapting to the new working environment and also enjoying the transition from university to work in the big city.
