Ms Heide Kuhlane

Heide Nozuko Kuhlane is a Senior Lecturer at Rhodes Business School, Rhodes University, where she coordinates the Postgraduate Diploma in Advancement and Resource Mobilisation. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, a Bachelor of Education Honours, and a Master of Education from Rhodes University, and is currently completing a PhD in Education. Her teaching and programme leadership focus on curriculum and leadership development, institutional advancement, and sustainable resource mobilisation within higher education and the broader social sector.

Her professional experience spans postgraduate and adult education, curriculum leadership, and the coordination of donor-funded academic programmes. She has worked extensively in programme development and partnership-building with educational institutions and community organisations. Her work emphasises strengthening leadership capacity and organisational sustainability, particularly in contexts of social and economic inequality.

Heide’s research focuses on professional learning and leadership in education, with particular attention to professional development in under-resourced contexts. Her work integrates sociocultural, African decolonial, and narrative approaches to understanding how individuals interpret and make meaning of, and apply knowledge across institutional, community, and professional contexts.
