The Amazing Other Show kicked off the 2014 calendar for Rhodes Drama Department in sizzling student style for the First Year Orientation programme in February.
An applied theatre satire zooming in on social politics in the Rhodes University campus environment, this provocative devised piece, directed by resident UBom! director and former MA student: Jess Harrison, raised key issues surrounding race, gender and class and entertained with its tight sylization, bawdy humour and obvious performance excellence and energy.
A first collaboration between UBom! Eastern Cape Theatre Company, resident within the deaprtment, and departmental students and staff, The Amazing Other Show is sure to be back with just as much vibrance, an equally strong ensemble cast and a whole plate of new dining hall politics in 2015.
