Short Biography:

Zerihun Woldu studied biology for his first degree, (B.Sc.) at Addis Ababa University and Botany at the Same University for M.Sc. He studied Ecological Botany at the Institute of Ecological Botany at Uppsala University, Sweden. He was promoted to a Full professor in Addis Ababa University in 2003 in recognition for his continued University services, outstanding community services and fulfilment of publications requirements in peer reviewed journals.

Prof. Zerihun has supervised over 50 MSc students and over 30 PhD students. He has published extensively both in national and international journals and contributed chapters in several books. He has authored a book on Comprehensive Analysis of Vegetation and Ecological Data.

Prof. Zerihun has won several competitive research grants, received several certificates from international research canters for successful completion of trainings and has rendered several professional community services. He has served as a member and vice chair of the Intergovernmental Coordination Committee of the UNESCO MAB (Man and the Biosphere).

Prof. Zerihun is a member of several International and National Professional Associations. He is the current Chief Editor of the Journal of the Biological Society of Ethiopia.

Prof. Zerihun has served as Director of Research and Delegate Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer of Addis Ababa University for four years since 2015. He is currently working as a regular teaching and research academic staff at the Department of Plant Biology and Biodiversity Management, College of Natural and Computational Sciences, Addis Ababa University
