Working title of thesis:

Coupled hydrological and hydrodynamic modelling with uncertainty for flood hazard assessment; a case for Wami/Ruvu basin Tanzania
Year of Registration: 2014

Brief Biography:
I have a MSc. degree in Applied Earth Science (Geo-hazards) from the University of Twente (ITC) in the Netherlands and BSc. degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Dar es salaam, Tanzania. My PhD study is designed to develop an uncertainty framework that includes uncertainty in both the catchment water balance and downstream flooding through a link between hydrological and hydrodynamic model to assess floodinundation areas. It is also designed to investigate the importance of quantifying the effects of flood attenuation within coarse scale hydrological models. The framework will enhance proper decision making in terms of land use management and flood mitigation practices by policy makers, communities and individuals.
