Women's Day Concert 2016
“On 9 August 1956, more than 20 000 South African women of all races staged a march on the Union Buildings in protest against the proposed amendments to the Urban Areas Act of 1950, commonly referred to as the "pass laws". Annually all of SA pays homage to these women and all women in our society who are making a difference in this present day. The theme for Women’s month 2016 is “Working together to enhance women’s opportunities to economic empowerment” #60yearsWomenUnited.
Come and join the Rhodes University Vocal students as they pay homage to all the wonderful Women out there making a difference. We will be doing a program of mostly well - known Musical theatre pieces and a few from Opera. We will intercede this with a few inspirational Poetry readings.
Come and enjoy a relaxing evening of Song.
