Short Biography:

Prof. dr. Jill Slinger is an environmental scientist with extensive international experience in (model-based) policy development, particularly in the field of integrated water and coastal management. Her current research focuses on connecting science, policy and people to co-design innovative and inclusive nature-based solutions.
Dr Slinger is a representative on the Dutch advisory committee on coastal flooding safety (Expertise Netwerk Waterkering – Kust) and has served as an invited delegate on the Dutch national special committee on the setting of safety standards for flooding in the 21st century (ENW-Normering).
Her teaching includes courses in continuous systems modelling and integrated nature-based design at masters level, as well as supervision of both masters and PhD students.
