About

The RU Internship Programme is a full-time employment opportunity aimed at South African members of the designated groups (as defined by the Employment Equity Act). The purpose of the internship is to provide fresh graduates with a strong academic record an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills while gaining critical working experience in their chosen fields so that they are able to apply for professional positions within the institution.

Rhodes University provides the perfect environment where these outcomes can be achieved. Interns are given real responsibilities and continuous development through dedicated mentoring and training initiatives. Running since 2004, 189 individuals joined the programme between 2004 and 2014 and 106 interns managed to find either temporary or permanent employment at the University, while others continued with their studies or left the University for other employment opportunities.

There are a variety of internship programmes namely; Clerical, Graduate and Technical. For more information on these internships, please click on the Recruitment.
