Clerical Internship

As part of the University’s Internship Programme applications are invited from suitably qualified equity candidates for the Clerical Internship from 1 February 2016 to 31 December 2016. This is an equity initiative for fresh graduates who would like to develop clerical and administrative competencies in order to prepare themselves for a clerical or administrative position.


Requirements:

A minimum of a Matric certificate with an administrative/secretarial diploma/certificate (one year of study) OR Matric plus no more than 1 years’ clerical/administrative experience.  This experience does not have to be formal employment, it can include volunteer work for which you may or may not have been paid.   Please note that candidates who have previous clerical experience will be at an advantage.  Those who have Matric and a post-Matric qualification as outlined above do not require any work experience.

 Other requirements include:

  • Must be Black (as defined by the Employment Equity Act).
  • Must reside in the Eastern Cape and be prepared to reside in Grahamstown for the duration of your Internship.
  • Basic Level of Computer Literacy – please note that this will be assessed as part of the recruitment process should you be short-listed.
  • English at the Grade 12/NQF4 level
  • Numeracy skills at the Grade 9/NQF1 level – unless you are placed in Finance in which case numeric skills at NQF4 are required.

Remuneration

Gross annual income: R 50,592 per annum
