Mathematical Statistics 3

This course may be taken as a major subject for BSc, BSc(InfSys), BCom, BEcon, BBusSc, BA or BSocSc degrees.

Mathematical Statistics 3 is an advanced undergraduate course in Mathematical Statistics which covers the theoretical under-pinnings, and associated applications, of the major branches of Mathematical Statistics. The course currently comprises four papers, namely multivariate distribution theory, the general linear model, Bayesian statistics and financial statistics. The Mathematical Statistics 3 course is a theoretical statistics course, with application. The course is designed to provide students with a firm theoretical statistical foundation and associated practical implementation skills. R and Rstudio are used as the primary computational software.
