This event aimed to provide first-year students with a safe space to discuss and work through common personal and academic challenges. The event focused on addressing issues related to the topics of discussion that were suggested to the Wellness Reps of the two residences from the first years. The main suggested topics of discussion included: social anxiety, time management, personal relationships, and the balance between academic and social lives. The event was structured to combine structured discussions and light-hearted, therapeutic activities in order to foster both emotional and social well-being.
The event was a resounding success, with attendees enthusiastically embracing the dress code, black and jeans outfits that added to the evening's energetic ambiance. The carefully curated activities, including teamwork-building games, card games, cup stacking challenges, and lively dancing, ensured that everyone had an unforgettable time. The event's interactive nature fostered a sense of unity among participants, making it a truly memorable experience for all involved.
The event was themed around a "Nude Colour" template for Allan Gray, which attendees enthusiastically incorporated into their outfits. The braai featured delicious food, engaging games such as guessing games, Mafia, and 30 Seconds, and ample opportunities for socialising in the various facilities available. The evening's lively atmosphere was complemented by great music, allowing everyone to unwind, have fun, and forge new connections.

The Allan Gray and Olive Schreiner House Sports Day took place at the Great Field on the 22 March. The event was much fun with two teams, team black and team white, competing in fun games such as tug of war, 5 a side soccer, open gate and water balloon wars.
On the 6th and 7th September Allan Gray students participated in the Inter-Hall Sports Competition representing Drostdy Hall. We participated in female soccer, netball and athletics. It was competitive but everyone had fun and we got a chance to create a sense of community during the times we prepared for the competition. We came first in the athletics 400m and second for the 800m, third place in soccer and we made it to the semi-finals for netball.
Allan Gray House hosted an environmental awareness event on September 19, 2025, featuring an eco-quiz night and film screening. The event educated residents on Makhanda's water crisis, sustainability initiatives, and environmental challenges. The film "How It Ends" prompted reflection on personal responsibility and environmental degradation. The evening aimed to foster environmental stewardship and community engagement.
The Heritage Themed Braai Night, hosted with Calata House, was a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, featuring students in traditional attire, delicious food, and lively music. The evening's fun games and activities, such as musical chairs and dancing competitions, brought everyone together, fostering unity and camaraderie. The event provided a relaxed setting for socializing, bonding, and appreciating different traditions, highlighting the importance of diversity and cultural exchange.
In the fourth term Allan Gray had a play date with the children from Luncedo Preschool. This play date involved engaging in activities with the children, watching movies and preparing party bags for them to take home. It was intimate and not too overwhelming for the kids, as the event was held in our common room with a reasonable number of students present.
